Accessible RSE in Mainstream: Adaptations Enhance Interventions
In this workshop, Kate facilitated sessions for PSHE Co-Ordinators across Derbyshire mainstream and specialist schools on adapting RSE to provide greater accessibility for neurodivergent and disabled learners to complement any additional individualised programmes. It also challenged educations role in dismantling harmful RSE tropes which reinforce ableist communication standards that the evidence base and lived experience feedback demonstrate has contributed to mental health problems in autistic and ADHD people.

In this training session, Kate supported participants to explore introductory themes around in intersectionality and unconscious bias in Speech and Language Therapy practice.

In this event, Kate and May spoke about intersectionality in the workplace, influenced by their personal experiences as neurodivergent people who are also in a supervisor and supervisee relationship within the same organisation.
