Specialist Support and Supervision For Practitioners

I offer supervision, coaching, training and co-thinking case discussions designed to facilitate practitioner growth and confidence within neurodiversity-affirming and anti-oppressive practice as practitioners working with neurodivergent people.

By 'practitioner', I'm referring to both therapeutically trained people and education, health and social care workers. It is vitally important that across education, health and social care, that we challenge systemic barriers and create environments that embrace neurodivergent perspectives and needs so that we can cultivate cultures of understanding, collaboration, and equity for neurodivergent people.

Starting Summer 2025

Co-Thinking Spaces for Therapists

I have therapists regularly reach out, looking for a space to explore their own neurodivergence, and yet 'clinical supervision' doesn't always feel like it's designed for these conversations.

That's why I'm launching Co-Thinking Spaces for therapists.

Co-Thinking Spaces are gentle, reflective spaces designed for therapists who are exploring their own neurodivergence—without pressure to ‘have it all figured out’. Together, we’ll unpack identity, language, internalised stories, and what it means to honour your needs in a profession that hasn’t always felt made for you. Available as a one-off, or series of sessions, these spaces are for all of you.

New Book Release

I'm thrilled to share that the fabulous Ruth Jones' new book, Neurodiversity-Affirming Practice for Speech and Language Therapists: Supporting Curiosity, Compassion and Conversation is due to launch in September.

Ruth is a thoughtful and courageous voice in the field, offering SLTs a compassionate, reflective, and deeply informed guide to practising in neurodiversity-affirming ways. Her work amplifies lived experience while challenging the profession to unlearn, adapt, and grow.

It's over 2 years since Ruth first emailed me, inviting me to contribute to the book. An additional chapter, with Fatimah Bint-Hanif, a creative caravan writing weekend and many WhatApp messages later, it is finally nearly here.

My contributions include a co-authored chapter with Fatimah, on Integrating Intersectionality: A Neurodiversity-Affirming Approach to Speech and Language Therapy and another I wrote on, Relationships and Sex Education – A Speech and Language Therapist's Role.

Fostering Collective Growth

Community matters deeply to me.

Increasingly, it has given me space to feel seen, heard, and connected over the years—while learning from people with experiences and identities different from my own. For neurodivergent people, community can offer belonging, strength, stretch and a powerful counter to systems that often marginalise or misunderstand us.

Through my work, I aim to contribute to communities that:

  • Uplift voices through equitable, inclusive spaces

  • Foster collaboration and mutual learning

  • Disrupt harmful systems

  • Promote authenticity without fear of judgement

  • Celebrate diversity as a source of strength

I believe community isn’t just a support system, but also a catalyst for change.

Reframing Neurodivergence

A 6 month, closed group supervision space designed for therapists who want to deepen their neurodiversity-affirming practice.

Supporting Accessibility in Supervisions

In line with my ongoing commitment to accessibility, I will be using Heidi Health in clinical supervision spaces—where consented to.

You can read more about this here.

The main benefit to supervisees, is that instead of working hard to maintain their focus on the topic of conversation in supervision, whilst also capturing detailed notes for their supervision record keeping, they can jot down information that supports their working memory during conversation, knowing that comprehensive notes will be provided from the transcript Heidi produces.

Emma - Autism Specialist Teacher and Deputy Manager, Reachout ASC

"Kate is easy going and I can ask her anything.  She has really good advice and really thinks about your personal/work situation. Kate gives practical strategies and ideas you can use without the jargon.  I look forward to seeing her as I know she will give me real-life advice. I have become more organised and feel I'm achieving more with her input."

Emma Ahern - Speech and Language Therapist, Zeebra Therapy Ltd

"Kate provides a safe and validating space which encourages open, non-judgemental clinical reflections. She is also very forthcoming with offering support, advice and resources which always prove to be very useful. I feel lucky and grateful to have the opportunity to have clinical supervision with Kate."

Jo -

Speech and Language Therapist

"Kate's supervision and coaching have had an enormous impact on me as a therapist and as a person.  She has introduced me to the Neurodiversity Paradigm and supported me to embrace a neurodiversity-affirming approach in my SLT practice.  Her immense knowledge, skills and passion have inspired me to question, learn and grow.  She has created a safe and supportive space for reflection and discussion, and I have developed so much as a therapist as a result."
